Each year, TIME assembles a list of the top products, software, and services that solve problems in innovative ways. This year, the publication selected Actual’s ESG Transformation Platform as one of the Best Inventions of 2022 in the Sustainability category. 

It’s a recognition of the impact that we’ve worked to achieve since the first days of Actual, validating all of the amazing work done by our team of visionaries and also highlighting how a key solution to climate change lies in empowering companies to act on their sustainability goals and make progress.

From Nostalgia to Solving Real World Challenges

Bringing together our unique experience in fields ranging from cognition to gaming, infrastructure to manufacturing, and supply chain to enterprise SaaS, we quickly found that our diverse experiences each brought a necessary ingredient to building solutions that could make a meaningful difference in sustainability.

With a game-like and action-oriented interface inspired by the games we all know and love like SimCity and Legos, we created Actual to take the guesswork out of ESG and provide users with a real-world path to reaching their green goals. The need for such a platform is overwhelming, especially now when it’s clear that companies are in need of a solution to the ESG transformation gap. 

Actual bridges this gap.

Users are able to build scenarios, test ideas, and explore numerous possibilities based on various courses of action in order to identify the specific actions they can take to make meaningful ESG improvements. It’s the source of a robust feedback loop for users that our team of software engineers, game designers, and clean transportation and supply chain execs spent years developing so that anyone can create a real pathway to net-zero.
